Prohibited & Restricted Items
DuffAM is a small, independent shop, and we take that responsibility seriously.
What We Won't Print
- Firearms, firearm components, or firearm accessories — including receivers, magazines, suppressors, or any part regulated under the Gun Control Act or ATF rules, regardless of state law where the part would be shipped.
- Export-controlled or defense-related items — anything that would fall under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) or EAR (Export Administration Regulations), including parts for military, aerospace, or defense end use outside of properly licensed work. If you're not sure whether something qualifies, we'll say no by default rather than guess.
- Copyrighted or trademarked designs you don't have the right to print — licensed characters, branded logos, or someone else's original design shared without permission. If you designed it, found it under a license that allows printing (Creative Commons, a marketplace license that permits personal fabrication, etc.), or it's your own reference part, you're covered — just be ready to tell us which.
- Anything illegal to manufacture, possess, or ship under federal law or the laws of your state.
- Medical or safety-critical devices intended for use inside or on the human body, or in a life-safety application, without prior written agreement — this isn't a certified medical device shop, and pretending otherwise would put you at real risk.
We reserve the right to decline any order, without needing to fully explain why, if something about it doesn't sit right — that judgment call is part of what you're paying for when you work with a real person instead of an automated print farm.
If You're Not Sure
Ask before you upload anything. A five-minute conversation at quote time is a lot better than a canceled order after you've already described your part in detail.
